Zero Ozone Germicidal UV lamp

Sunlight is the main source of UV radiation, even though UV rays make up only a small portion of the sun’s rays. There are also different types of UV rays, based on how much energy they have. UVC rays have more energy than the other types of UV rays. Fortunately, because of this, they react with ozone high in our atmosphere and don’t reach the ground.

Bacteria, fungi, and viruses can be killed by exposure to UVC. The UVC photons are energetic enough to damage the DNA and RNA of microorganisms, destroying their ability to replicate.

Our Absolute unit is designed by utilizing high intensity germicidal UVC to kill bacteria and other germs without producing ozone.

Titanium Dioxide, TiO2

Titanium, the ninth most common element in the Earth’s crust, is a metal commonly found in plants and animals. Titanium naturally interacts with oxygen to form titanium oxides, commonly found in ores, indigenous dusts, sands and soils.

Why TiO2 in an air Purifier?

Titanium dioxide acts as a catalyst and it’s energized by ultraviolet (UV) light. Titanium dioxide photocatalyst coating oxidizes contaminants in the air that adsorb onto the coating into water, carbon dioxide, and other substances. When photons of the ultraviolet light are absorbed by the titanium dioxide photocatalyst coating forming a photocatalytic reaction, it then reacts with water applied on the titanium dioxide photocatalyst coating, forming reactive hydroxyl radicals.

When a contaminant in the air is adsorbed onto titanium dioxide photocatalyst, the hydroxyl radical attacks the contaminant, abstracting a hydrogen atom from the contaminant. The hydroxyl radical oxidizes the contaminant, producing water, carbon dioxide, and other substances.

The TiO2 catalyst adds more energy to the intensity of the Germicidal UVC light make it super hyper active. Our Absolute patented filtration process uses a powerful combination of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) coated polymer catalyst and a 40 W LED anti-germicidal UV lamp to provide unprecedented air sterilization.

Benefits:

  1. Tests were conducted at a certified laboratory by developing a HVAC system by using a filter impregnated by titanium di-oxide (TiO2) with UV lights to improve and maintain cabin air quality.
